Cookie & Local Storage Policy

1. Cookies

Milestone Pre-K’s application code does not use cookies for advertising, analytics, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

Hosting or security infrastructure may use strictly necessary technical mechanisms during security or abuse-prevention events. These mechanisms are not used by Milestone Pre-K for advertising or behavioral profiling.

2. Local storage

The Service uses first-party browser localStorage to remember information on your device, including:

• The selected age band: 3, 4, or 5;
• Readiness-check answers;
• Activity completion and progress; and
• Display preferences, such as light or calm night theme.

LocalStorage is not a user account and is not cloud storage. Milestone Pre-K does not receive or synchronize this information.

3. Your controls

You may clear app data through the Service’s “Your local data” control. You can also remove site data through your browser settings. Blocking localStorage may prevent progress and preferences from being saved, but core educational content remains available.

Private-browsing modes may remove local data when the session ends. On a shared device, other people using the same browser profile may be able to view saved progress.

4. Exported data

If you use the export feature, the export is created on your device. You decide where to store or share it. Milestone Pre-K cannot retrieve, secure, or delete your exported copy.

5. External sites and technical logs

When you follow a link to another site, such as a CDC resource, that site may use cookies or other technologies under its own policies.

Server access logs are described in the Privacy Policy. They are different from localStorage and are not used by Milestone Pre-K for advertising or cross-site tracking.

6. Changes and contact

If our use of browser technologies changes, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choice required by applicable law.
